As we welcome a new year, devotees seek blessings of the Triple Gem – Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha to start a year with a new resolution. It is a day of recommitment to lead a spiritual life in accordance with Dhamma. Offerings of gift, flowers, candles and other necessities are given to the temple as a practice of generosity. Monastic community conducts a spiritual blessing by conducting puja, chanting discourses and offering blessings water and strings.
