Do I need to have an experience in meditation?

No. Our regular weekly Sunday meditation is for everyone. As one starts practicing it, one gain an experience of peace and tranquility within.

How do I dress it?

Modest dress is appreciated. Since, meditation is done sitting on the cushion, it would be good to wear the appropriate clothing for it.

Do I have to be Buddhist to benefit from meditation?

Not really. Many of our attendees for meditation are from other faith backgrounds, so anyone can learn basic meditation and experience the benefits that come from having a peaceful mind. Buddhists respect all people and are happy to help anyone regardless of whether they subscribe to another faith, or to none.

What do I need to bring to attend meditation session?

It would be appreciated if you call us at 612-522-1811 or email us at info@mnbv.org before attending it. No need to bring anything. The meditation cushion is provided.

Temple Etiquette

Everyone, who enters the temple, is required to remove shoes and hats. One should not sit facing one’s back to the Buddha statue. Please ask permission before taking photos of the interior of the shrine room.
