Since the inception of our temple, monastics have been providing dhamma learning for children. This class is designed to make children familiar with taking refuge in the Triple Gem, observing five precepts, worshipping to the qualities of Triple Gem and practicing loving-kindness meditation.

All children above 8 are encouraged to join this bi-monthly meetings to learn the life story of the Buddha, basic fundamental teachings. In addition, they are also taught ethics and social responsibility towards family, friends and the society, so they learn to live mindfully and more responsibly. Please see the event calendar for the dates that are held these sessions.

Why teach Dhamma to children?

Dhamma is for everyone. It is especially important to our young generation. In the modern world, our children need a spiritual support to cope with stress they face in life. These days, they have a hard time to differentiate good and bad. Because of misusing technology, children have lost focus and mindfulness in life.

Learning Dhamma is not just helping them to have focus but also have a purpose in life. It teaches them to develop love, kindness and empathy towards everyone, so they learn to forgive and feel connected with others.

Avoid doing evil, practice cultivating merit, and purify one’s mind – this is the Teaching of all Buddhas.
